RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLEANING
- RubbAir Doors feature easily maintainable surfaces. The standard color
(black) features a smooth surface for the door body whereas the impact
pane! flexible color facings and the plastic color facing feature a
textured surface (referred to as "haircell"). Cleaning these
surfaces with soap and water or commercially available cleaners such
as "Fantastic" and "409"removes all but the most
stubborn dirt. For ground-in dirt, we suggest using "Lori J"
by Ramco Chemical, Inc.,Holbrook, MA 02343 or "Zoom" by Amway
Products. Indelible ink and other marks can be removed with "D.W.R.II"
(Dirty Word Remover II) by KRC Research Corp., 315 N. Washington Avenue,
Moorestown, NJ, 08057.
- Cleaning the textured surfaces is easier with a soft bristle brush,
rotating the brush in a circular motion and collecting the loosened
dirt with a clean cloth.
- Re-conditioning the door surface to a soft luster can be done with
Armor-All Cleaner and Armor-All Protectant, manufactured by Very Important
Products, Inc.,Newport Beach, CA, 92660. Testing reveals the Armor-All
Products also tend to leave a thin residue which facilitates future
cleaning.
- Assuring that the doors are plumb and free-swinging in the opening
will reduce binding and subsequent drag on the door surface, thereby
reducing mars and dirt from passing loads. Or, if your doors have deep
seat cams or the standard (38mm rise) cams, convert them to 19mm rise
for less drag (and less wear and tear).
- Following these suggestions will keep your RubbAir Doors clean and
attractive for their intended long life.
